thank you have played with the likes of beach house, dan deacon, daniel higgs, celebration, wzt hearts and ponytail. thank you is an athletic rhythm/action unit, made up of jeffrey mcgrath, michael bouyoucas and elke wardlaw. michael was a member of the baltimore band more dogs who released an album on monitor records. the members of thank you are longtime friends and musical collaborators, working hard to bring to life their wholly original compositions. musical ideas are introduced and have conversations with one another, each track filled with new articulation and insight. the basics of drums, organ, and guitar build the foundation, but are augmented by whistles, cowbell, hobo harmonica, snappy loops, car horns, and whatever else might be at hand. the album terrible two was engineered by j. robbins (yeasayer, mary timony, jets to brazil) in baltimore and was produced and mixed by chris coady (tv on the radio, yeah yeah yeahs, celebration) in new york city.

cosmic club is a label focused on releasing original obscure dance classic. for this 5th release, we give you the opportunity to grab 2 fantastic trax once again, brand image are you lovin? a pure cosmic italo disco gem, a track very rare to find and sought after in its full instrumental version, it made us think about an italo disco version of chk chk chk!!! and as a bonus we put also on the b side, another italo cult classic from lectric workers the garden, both tracks have been played by the big daniele baldelli for years now and obviously all the italo cosmic disco freaks on this planet!

steve kotey needs little introduction, head honcho of bear entertainment, an accomplished producer and a member of chicken lips. kotey is joined on this record by max essa. having previously released on paper recordings back in 2001 max also played guitar with the infamous, long distance runners. steve & max have delivered 3 beautiful records in the shape of the salon de l herbe series. this ep offers up everything good that is disco from the up tempo 1974 a side to the spaced out vibes of 1988. if that wasnt enough this 12inch release is finished off with a 3 rd track 1981 on the cosmic/balearic tip. the years may become confusing but with live drums, guitars and slick arrangement words cant do these productions justice. more to come from these two with a follow up in the salon de l herbe series dueto be released in june/july 08, exciting stuff!

nice price deal !!! lickin records label bosses sunloverz return with their brand new project called trashfunk on the starlet recordings imprint. their task was to remix the 80s cult record talking in your sleep from the romantics which is still played by jocks like armand van helden or felix da housecat, and they doubtless made a great job. for all full on vocal haters there is also a kickin dub mix and a stunning ben delay remix.

phonogenics >postcard< is slow burner, building and rising to a eventual climax of melancholic underwater deepness. this song will no doubt be played by those in the later time slots and anyone who wants to add a little journey to their mixes. our main man dex aka dave barker is back with another slice of some quality melodic quirky goodness. >yikes!< has a very chopped up funk/soul feel mixed with solid house beats. studio trickery and a hidden japanese opera helps the track evolve from its soulful beginning to another world entirely. finally, we are very pleased to bring you the first of many musical efforts from amantu wilde. not much is known about amantu as he is a bit of a recluse and does not offer up much information about himself. >g-g-got my eyes on you< is a very retro sounding track reminiscent of some classic new wave jams. pseudo industrial percussion and excellent filter work make this track something to remember. something strange for sure but we think people will like the break from the mod rn sounds

hinode’ is a tribute and farewell to our favourite club, yellow in tokyo. we’ve played some great gigs there, six or seven hours in the dark with eight hundred people and one strobe light – perfection. endless saki in the bar, obligatory stalkers (“93!” and hedgehog girl step forward please), smoke and heat on the dance floor. finally emerging deafened and sun blinded into the brilliance of saturday mid-morning in tokyo… backing up the original is an exceptional remix from our favourite techno genius - fergie.
